📝 Steps to Get Local Police Permission for Drone Flying (Hyderabad)
1. Identify the Police Jurisdiction
-
Find the local police station under which your flying area falls.
-
Example: If you want to fly near Hussain Sagar, it comes under Saifabad Police Station / Hyderabad City Police.
👉 You can find police station contacts at: Telangana Police Website
2. Prepare a Permission Letter
-
The letter should include:
-
Your Name, Contact details
-
Drone details (Make/Model/Weight, UIN if available)
-
Purpose (Blogging, Photography, Wedding Shoot, etc.)
-
Date, Time, and Place of flying
-
Safety assurance (you will follow DGCA rules, not fly over crowds, not near airports, etc.)
-
3. Submit to Police Station
-
Visit the Station House Officer (SHO) of the concerned police station.
-
Submit the letter 2–3 days before the flight.
-
Some police stations may give a written NOC, some may just sign your letter.
4. Carry Documents on Flight Day
Keep the following with you while flying:
-
Copy of permission letter with police seal/signature
-
Drone UIN registration (from DGCA Digital Sky)
-
Remote Pilot Certificate (if applicable)
-
Your personal ID (Aadhar / Driving License)
5. Inform on Day of Flying (Optional but Recommended)
Call the SHO / Duty officer on the morning of the shoot, and inform them again. This avoids trouble if locals complain.
